Zambia's Minister Promotes Digital Unity in Kenya

Zambia's Minister of Technology and Science, Felix Mutati, has been touring Africa to promote digital transformation. During his recent visit to Kenya, he emphasized the critical role of digital infrastructure, including data centres, in Africa's technological growth. Mutati met with other African tech leaders to discuss collaboration and unity.

Mutati's tour included a visit to the Africa Data Centres in Nairobi, where he boosted technological investments in Zambia. He advised that Africa should focus on building on existing foundations for technological growth to save time and reduce costs. Kenya, a front-runner in adopting digital technologies in Africa, was an ideal location for this message.

Mutati, describing Africa as the 'new world' with numerous emerging opportunities, discussed with other leaders at the Connected Africa Summit 2024. He met with Dr. Bitange Ndemo from Kenya, Dr. Omobola Johnson from Nigeria, and Mr. Bright Simons from Ghana. Together, they stressed the importance of reducing obstacles to cooperation among African nations for technological advancement. Mutati urged other tech leaders in Africa to learn from each other and collaborate.

Mutati's visit to Kenya underscored the importance of unity and collaboration among African IT leaders for digital transformation. By focusing on existing foundations and reducing barriers to cooperation, Africa can seize emerging opportunities and accelerate its technological growth.
