Yakutia's Housing Construction Booms in 2024, On Track to Meet 2025 Targets
Yakutia has seen a significant boost in housing construction, with a record-breaking 752 thousand square meters of 'section 8 housing' commissioned in 2024. This is part of the 'Housing' regional project under the 'Infrastructure for Life' national project, initiated by President Putin. Alexander Yefremov, the construction minister of Yakutia, revealed these figures.
Over the past decade, Yakutia has commissioned a total of 6.5 million square meters of 'hud housing'. This year, the plan is to commission 690 thousand square meters, with 330 thousand square meters for multi-apartment buildings and 360 thousand square meters for individual ones.
As of October 1, 2025, 531.4 thousand square meters of 'section 8 housing' have been commissioned. This includes 128.3 thousand square meters for multi-apartment buildings, which is 65% more than the same period last year. Individual housing construction accounts for the majority, with 403.1 thousand square meters commissioned, representing 88% of the level from the same period last year.
Yakutia's housing construction has shown remarkable growth, with a record-breaking year in 2024 and significant increases in both multi-apartment and individual 'section 8 housing' construction. The region is on track to meet its annual targets, with over half of the planned 'hud housing' already commissioned by October 1, 2025.
