When is the 2025 Puppy Bowl Scheduled? Guidelines for Cable and Streaming Viewing
Prepare yourself, sports and animal lovers alike! This Sunday isn't just about the Chiefs and Eagles battling it out in the Super Bowl. Animal Planet's annual spectacle, Puppy Bowl XXI, is set to capture our hearts as well.
First debuting in 2005, Puppy Bowl is more than a simple game; it's the largest adoption event of its kind. In the words of Chief Creative Officer of U.S. Networks and President of Discovery Networks, Howard Lee, "Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl serves as an annual pop culture programming event that continues to expand in reach, awareness, and, of course, puppies, every year."[1]
So, what can we expect from this adorable, three-hour extravaganza? Puppy Bowl XXI will boast 142 rescue puppies from 80 pet shelters across 40 states and two countries, competing for our affection and potentially finding their forever homes.[1]
Unsurprisingly, there are some star-studded guests joining the fun. Acclaimed director, writer, and producer, James Gunn, of Warner Bros.' upcoming Superman remake, will be making an appearance with his dog, Ozu, who served as inspiration for Krypto the Superdog in Gunn's film.[2]
The event is set to begin on Sunday, February 9, at 2:00 p.m. ET, and will also be simulcast on Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, and truTV. Plus, if you can't catch it live, you'll be able to stream it on Discovery+ and Max.[2]
