Wells Fargo Invests $100,000 in Folklore's Grants Initiative for Fifth Year
Wells Fargo has continued its support for Folklore's grants initiative, investing $100,000 for the fourth consecutive year. This substantial contribution enables Folklore to award $10,000 each to 10 Latino businesses in Kansas City, fostering growth and sustainability in underserved communities.
Folklore, a rooftop event celebrating its fifth year during Hispanic Heritage Month, has evolved into a sold-out celebration with a purpose. The event, founded by Luis Padilla, brings together community members to enjoy Caribbean culture, featuring food, music, and activities from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. In addition to celebrating, Folklore invests back into local nonprofits and small business ideas through its grants program.
Crispin Rea, an at-large councilman for KCMO's 4th District, praised Wells Fargo's ongoing support for the initiative. The bank's investment allows Folklore to award grants to 10 Latino businesses annually, promoting long-term growth and sustainability. Applications for the next round of Folklore's grants program will open in mid-October and close at the end of November.
