Walmart's Open Call event, which has been helping small and medium businesses grow since 2014, is back for 2025. This year, the focus is on U.S. entrepreneurs with manufacturing innovations that can reduce complexity, cost, or environmental impact in American manufacturing.

The deadline for submissions is fast approaching, with applications closing on July 25, 2025. Eligible applicants must be U.S.-based with a shelf-ready product or a manufacturing innovation related to U.S. manufacturing improvements.

The event, which is part of Walmart's $350 billion commitment to American-made products, offers U.S. entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their products directly to Walmart and Sam's Club buyers for potential in-store or online placement nationwide.

Teams are particularly interested in the best of the best in manufacturing innovation, with categories including yield insights, shelf-life extension, alternative materials, and advanced manufacturing.

Submissions for manufacturing innovation pitches are now open via an online form. Successful applicants will be notified by September 2, 2025, and will be invited to participate in the in-person event held on October 7-8, 2025, at Walmart’s home office in Bentonville, Arkansas.

This year, Open Call is expanding its application to search for innovative companies developing breakthrough technologies that enable or enhance U.S. manufacturing.

Supporting American-made products is a long-standing part of Walmart's history. In fact, Walmart founder Sam Walton initiated a "Buy American" initiative 40 years ago. Today, Walmart continues to support U.S. products and the innovations behind them, as demonstrated by their $350 billion commitment to products made, grown, or assembled in the United States.

Walmart U.S. is ranked as the top food and consumables retailer in North America by Progressive Grocer, and the company employed approximately 2.1 million associates worldwide in FY2025, generating a revenue of $681 billion.

With approximately 270 million customers and members visiting Walmart's stores and e-commerce websites in 19 countries each week, Open Call presents a significant opportunity for U.S. entrepreneurs to reach a vast audience.

In April, Walmart launched the "Grow with US" program to aid U.S. small businesses in finding success with the retail giant. This initiative, along with Open Call, demonstrates Walmart's commitment to supporting U.S. job creation and American-made products.

So, if you're a U.S.-based entrepreneur with a manufacturing innovation that could change the game, don't miss out on this opportunity. Submit your application for Walmart's Open Call 2025 today.
