Upcoming PM-KISAN Instalment 2025: Possible Disbursement of Rs 2,000 to Farmers on Stated Date, Yet Eligibility Criteria May Exclude Some Agriculturists
The PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana, a central government initiative, aims to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers. The 20th instalment of this scheme is expected to be released on or around July 18, 2025, bringing much-needed relief, particularly to those preparing for the kharif season.
To be eligible for the PM-KISAN scheme, farmers must meet specific criteria. Only those who own cultivable agricultural land, as recorded in official state land records, are eligible. The applicant must also be a citizen of India. A single installment is provided per farmer family unit, defined as husband, wife, and minor children.
Crucially, the farmer’s Aadhaar must be linked to both their bank account and mobile number for verification. All beneficiaries must also complete electronic KYC (e-KYC) via OTP, biometric, or face authentication before the deadline.
Farmers who paid income tax in the previous financial year, serving or retired government employees receiving pensions above Rs 10,000/month, and practicing professionals (e.g., doctors, engineers, lawyers) are not eligible for the PM-KISAN scheme.
Registration for the PM-KISAN scheme can be done through the official PM-Kisan website, the 'Farmer Registry UP' mobile app, or by visiting local government offices. Keep land records and other relevant documents handy during registration.
Ensuring Aadhaar is linked to the bank account and completing e-KYC are essential steps to avoid payment delays. Farmers can check their beneficiary status on the PM-KISAN portal by entering their Aadhaar number, account number, or mobile number.
Land records issues may affect the payment, and farmers can visit the local tehsil or revenue office to fix any discrepancies. Incorrect bank account details can block the payment, so it's important to ensure these are accurate.
Farmers who have completed all the required steps, especially e-KYC and Aadhaar-bank account linking, are expected to receive the installment directly into their bank accounts. However, farmers who haven't completed these formalities may face delays or may not receive the Rs 2,000 payment at all.
With the expected release date around July 18, 2025, farmers are encouraged to check their status, update their details, and complete their e-KYC without delay to ensure the Rs 2,000 reaches their account without delay. The PM-KISAN scheme provides eligible landholding farmers with Rs 6,000 annually, distributed in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
For assistance, farmers can contact the official PM-KISAN helpline (155261 / 1800-115-5266) or email [email protected]. They can also visit their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) for help. An ongoing awareness campaign by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare emphasises the importance of completing these steps to avoid payment delays.
- Ensuring that their Aadhaar is linked to both their bank account and mobile number is crucial for farmers to successfully receive the PM-KISAN scheme installments, as it facilitates verification and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
- Instead of risking payment delays or non-receipt of the Rs 2,000, farmers are strongly encouraged to complete their e-KYC, Aadhaar-bank account linking, and ensure the accuracy of their land records and bank account details ahead of the July 18, 2025, PM-KISAN installment release date.
