Unauthorized Residence of Ten Bosnian Nationals Discovered in Kempten
In Kempten, the Bauordnungsamt recently discovered an unauthorized residence of ten Bosnian-Herzegovinian nationals at a construction site. The incident, which occurred in August 2023, sparked an investigation into suspected illegal immigration.
The investigation revealed that the individuals were residing at the site without proper authorization. Their residence permits and passports were confiscated and handed over to the Kempten immigration authority. It was found that the permits did not grant them the right to engage in economic activity in the country.
The unauthorized residence came to light during a random inspection by the Financial Control of Illegal Work (FKS). On Tuesday, 13 officials from FKS visited the construction site and discovered the ten nationals, some of whom had invalid or expired Slovenian residence permits.
The Kempten building authority is currently conducting investigative proceedings for suspected illegal immigration. The ten Bosnian-Herzegovinian nationals are no longer in possession of their residence permits and passports. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of proper immigration documentation and authorization for economic activity.
