Unscheduled Inspection Initiated at Zarechnoye Uranium Mine in Turkestan Region

A social media video, consisting of clips taken at the Zarechnoye mine in Otyrar district, has triggered an unscheduled inspection of the facility. Kazatomprom, the national atomic company, has stated that the video does not portray an accurate and authentic depiction of the mine's operations.

The video shows workers in apparent haste, with some suggesting that the footage was captured at different times. Determining the exact dates of the recorded incidents has become challenging, according to Kazatomprom's press release. The company emphasized that any staff members find evidence of equipment malfunctions or violations of environmental regulations should immediately alert management for prompt corrective action and prevention of potential environmental impact.

Following the publication of the video, officials from the regional authorities, Amanat party, and local government visited the mine. The Department of Ecology of Turkestan region has initiated an unscheduled inspection, examining production facilities and collecting soil samples for laboratory analysis.

The enterprise is conducting an internal investigation to thoroughly examine all circumstances surrounding the controversial video.
