UK Funds £1M Science & Innovation Projects in Costa Rica

The British Embassy in San Jose has kickstarted a significant initiative, investing £1 million to fund nine Science and Innovation projects in Costa Rica. The 2015-2016 programme, which began in July 2015, is set to culminate in a Science and Innovation Fair on March 18, 2016. The primary goal is to foster economic development and wellbeing through scientific research and capacity building, while also strengthening cooperation between the UK and Costa Rica.

Her Majesty's Ambassador to San Jose, Ross Denny, highlighted the fund's objective to identify high-impact interventions. This includes sharing best practices and addressing common concerns, particularly in areas like climate change and energy security. The projects, spanning from July 2015 to March 2016, are expected to leave a lasting impact on Costa Rica's scientific and innovative capabilities.

The £1 million investment is a testament to the UK's commitment to supporting Costa Rica's scientific and technological advancements. The projects, though not specified, are anticipated to cover a broad spectrum of sectors, reflecting the diverse challenges and opportunities faced by both nations.

The 2015-2016 Science and Innovation projects, funded by the British Embassy in San Jose, are poised to enhance Costa Rica's scientific and innovative landscape. With a focus on high-impact interventions and global challenges, the initiative is set to strengthen the UK-Costa Rica partnership. The upcoming Science and Innovation Fair will serve as a platform to showcase the achievements and potential outcomes of these projects.
