B236 Wambel Tunnel in Dortmund to Close for Maintenance
The B236 Wambel Tunnel in Dortmund will be closed for maintenance from Thursday, September 8, 2025, to Friday, September 10, 2025. The closure will occur from 8 PM to 5 AM, affecting both directions of the tunnel.
The Street.NRW Regional Branch Ruhr is responsible for the closure, which is part of the semi-annual maintenance of the tunnel technology. During the maintenance, only one lane will be available in each direction of the tunnel.
Traffic disruptions are expected in the area due to the closure. The exit from the B1 to the B236 in the direction of Lünen will not be possible during this period. Detours will be signposted to help drivers navigate around the closure.
The closure will take place from Thursday to Friday night (11/12.9.), and additional restrictions will occur in late September for further maintenance. The Street.NRW Regional Branch Ruhr will provide timely information about the late September maintenance.
