Transport Users Enhanced by Virtual Reality Research Team's Services
Get set for a thrilling ride as the engineering powerhouse, ESTACA, and the cutting-edge technology center, CLARTE, team up to design the transport systems of tomorrow! This power couple is all set to revolutionize travel experiences through the use of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).
Welcome the V-REMOTE family, short for Virtual Reality for Mobility Transportation user Experience. V-REMOTE's goal? To transform tomorrow's transport systems into a cleaner, safer, delightful, and more intuitive journey, all thanks to VR and AR technologies.
Reinventing Transport through VR/AR
Their ambitious plan is to contribute to the growth of VR and AR technologies in the design and development of the new-age transport scene, with a special focus on the on-board experience.
On the research front, joint national and European collaborative projects will be initiated to push the boundaries of VR/AR. In the educational sphere, students will be introduced to these vital technologies, preparing them for the industry's future needs. Additionally, VR valorization is on the cards on a local, national, and international scale, with themed events planned to educate and engage. This collaboration cements Laval's agglomeration as a beacon of virtual reality excellence.
Kickstarting Collaboration: Three Groundbreaking Projects
Crafting Your Dream Ride
CLARTE proposes an educational project for third-year ESTACA students, aiming to develop a robotic arm that can mimic any surface geometry. Fitted with a VR headset and a polymorphic actuator, this tool allows users to virtually touch and feel different materials before they're used in a vehicle's design. This tech could revolutionize comfort choices, giving users a sneak peek of their dream ride, even before a prototype is built!
Virtual Prototyping in Motion
Looking ahead, ESTACA accommodates a PhD student working on the "Advanced driver-assistance systems development methodology using virtual reality." This research aims to streamline the creation of autonomous vehicles by enabling users to virtually test various options before the vehicle hits the production line.
Soaring High with VISION'R
The Flying west student association at ESTACA takes flight with VISION'R, a student-led VR flight simulator project. Built on a jack structure, this simulator promises a unique and unforgettable virtual flying experience, designed to train the next generation of pilots. With CLARTE's support, the VISION'R team is set to take off, bringing virtual reality to new heights!
The VISION'R team showcased its prototype project for the first time at ESTACA's open day in January 2020.
While specific details about their ongoing projects may not be publicly available, these three projects serve as a testament to the exciting journey ESTACA and CLARTE are embarking upon to redefine the future of transportation! Buckle up and join them on their quest for pioneering the age of VR and AR travel!
- The joint venture between ESTACA and CLARTE aims to utilize VR and AR technologies to revolutionize the financial aspects of transportation industry, focusing particularly on investments in innovative mobility solutions.
- As part of their collaborative efforts, ESTACA and CLARTE will work together to integrate VR and AR technologies into the education system, thereby fostering a workforce equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in the financial technology (fintech) sector of the transportation industry.
