"Tomskvodokanal plans excavations on four large sites by 2025"
Tomsk, Russia - On Monday, Igor Mažeikin, director of Tomskvodokanal, announced a major infrastructure repair plan for the city in 2025. The project will focus on four large city sections, including sections on Berenga and Govorova streets, Frunze and Lenin prospects, and sections on Shevchenko street and the Liniya Lenina highway.
Mažeikin explained that the project includes a complete replacement of 4 kilometers of piping, with 1.5 kilometers undergoing a substantial overhaul. The repairs will begin this year and will be completed by early October.
"On these large sections, we will be replacing 100 meters of piping on Prospekt Fruense from Sh Evchenko street, a section on Berenga street from Sergey Lazo Street to the Irkutsk Highway near the Manège, a section along Lenin Prospect from Lužovaya Street to the 5th Army, and a section on Govorova 56," said Mažeikin.
Other sections undergoing repairs will be mostly roads of secondary and tertiary categories or green zones.
According to Mažeikin, the majority of the work on sections with paved surfaces will be completed during the first decade of October. The total budget for this year's repair campaign is estimated to be 450 million rubles, with 130 million rubles allocated for the extensive overhaul, including pipeline construction, linings, and associated pumping stations.
Investments in the repair program amounted to 300 million rubles as part of the city's investment program. Given the aging infrastructure and leaking issues reported in cities like Tomsk, these repairs are likely intended to address these problems and improve water management systems in the region.
