Title: When Can You Stream Robbie Williams' Music Biopic "Better Man"?
Unveiling in cinemas nationwide this weekend is the captivating fantasy docudrama biopic, Better Man, starring British pop sensation Robbie Williams. While Williams portrays himself in the film, Jonno Davies employs performance capture technology, a la Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, to depict Williams as a chimpanzee within the narrative.
Based on the real-life journey of one of the world's greatest entertainers, Better Man delves into the incredible ascent, tumultuous descent, and eventual resurgence of Robbie Williams. Under the visionary direction of Michael Gracey, renowned for The Greatest Showman, the film tells Robbie's tale with his signature wit and relentless spirit.
The film explores Williams' rise from childhood to the youngest member of chart-topping boyband Take That, followed by his record-breaking solo career successes. Alongside this ascension comes the trials and tribulations of international fame and fortune.
Rated R, Better Man premiers in theatres on Friday. As of now, the only way to witness this cinematic event is on the big screen, so make sure to check your local listings for showtimes.
Once Better Man leaves the cinema landscape, it will debut in the home entertainment marketplace first through digital streaming via premium video on demand (PVOD).
In the past, Paramount Pictures, the studio behind Better Man, has adhered to a one-month theatrical window before releasing films on PVOD. For instance, their animated adventure Transformers One and horror thriller Smile 2 both followed this pattern, with Transformers One becoming available on PVOD about a month after its theatrical release, and Smile 2 debuting on the platform slightly earlier.
If Better Man follows a similar release pattern as these examples, fans can expect to stream or rent the film on PVOD around mid-February.
Given that Paramount Pictures handles the distribution for Better Man, the film will eventually become available on the studio's streaming service Paramount+. Historically, Paramount releases have seen a window of up to two months between the theatrical debut and their Paramount+ premiere. For instance, Transformers One appeared on Paramount+ about two months after its theater premiere, while Smile 2 debuted slightly sooner, about six weeks after its theatrical release.
Should Better Man follow this shorter release pattern, fans might see the film on Paramount+ between late February and early March.
Starring an ensemble cast including Steve Pemberton, Damon Herriman, Raechelle Banno, Alison Steadman, Kate Mulvaney, Frazer Hadfield, Tom Budge, and Anthony Hayes, the fantastical Robbie Williams biopic Better Man graces theaters nationwide this weekend.
