Corvette CX Hypercar: A Futuristic Blend of Heritage and Technology
The Corvette CX, a groundbreaking concept car designed by Chevrolet's team based in Warren, Michigan, is set to redefine the boundaries of high-performance electric vehicles. This hypercar is the culmination of a trilogy of design studies for the Corvette in 2025, marking a significant leap forward in automotive technology and design.
The Corvette CX boasts a sleek, low-slung silhouette, measuring approximately 4669 mm long, 2178 mm wide, and just over 1033 mm tall. Key design elements include a fighter-jet-inspired cockpit canopy, a vacuum fan system integrated into the bodywork, active aerodynamic components, wing-shaped suspension A-arms, dual-element taillights, and a pronounced horizontal “chine” line.
The CX's performance is unlike any previous Corvette model, with an all-wheel-drive quad-motor electric powertrain producing over 2000 horsepower (1491 kW). Power is supplied by a 90-kWh lithium-ion battery pack mounted low in the chassis for optimal weight distribution and a low center of gravity. The CX.R Vision Gran Turismo is a hybrid, combining electric motors in both front wheels, one in the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, a 900-hp, two-liter twin-turbo V8, and a synthetically-fueled engine, totaling 2000 hp.
