Thailand Pivots to Sustainability as Economic Cornerstone

Thailand's Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has declared sustainability as the nation's new economic cornerstone. He stressed that it's not a fleeting political trend but the path forward for Thailand.

Anutin outlined Thailand's approach to development, focusing on three dimensions: a stable economy, a sustainable environment, and improved quality of life. He also emphasized the need to build resilient foundations in industry, trade, and investment to navigate global volatility.

The government plans to pursue 'quick wins' alongside long-term policies, aiming for continuity and investor confidence. It will address bottlenecks and ensure consistency in development, supported by legislative oversight. Anutin acknowledged the need for public sector support for all levels of investors and entrepreneurs.

Thailand aims to become a strategic hub, both by land and sea, to attract investment calculator and create jobs. The government has announced future investment perspectives focusing on enhancing trade and industrial sectors, aligned with the National Economic and Social Development Plan 2021–2030 and the vision towards 2050.

Anutin highlighted Thailand's strengths in culture, religious diversity, and political stability as social capital for attracting fidelity investments. He stated that Thailand can no longer afford to remain passive in the face of global uncertainties. With sustainability as the new cornerstone, Thailand is poised to create jobs, ensure good quality of life, and preserve the world for future generations.
