Task Force enacts initial steps under Klingel initiative

In the heart of Germany's Enzkreis-Mühlacker-Pforzheim region, a series of initiatives are underway to support local workers and businesses in the wake of industry transformations and challenges.

On the employment front, a flurry of activities is scheduled for the coming weeks. The vocational training and further education fair Mühlacker-Enzkreis-Pforzheim is set for October 14, 2023, providing opportunities for individuals seeking to upskill or change careers.

Meanwhile, a job fair at the CongressCentrum Pforzheim is planned for October 21, 2023. This event, which targets Klingel Group employees and other job seekers, will see more than 60 employers with over 100 open positions in attendance. Galeria Karstadt-Kaufhof employees will also be informed about the job fair offer.

The city, WSP, and the employment agency will collaborate in this job fair, aiming to prevent unemployment for as many affected individuals as possible. In fact, the Job Agency has already successfully completed job seeker registrations for approximately 500 affected Klingel employees.

The Job Agency has established a task force to address issues related to the Klingel liquidation. This team meets every two weeks to discuss and coordinate the latest developments and "new challenges". The task force's efforts have not gone unnoticed, with interest from 100 companies for Klingel employees.

The Klingel liquidation has indeed had a visible impact on other businesses in the Pforzheim area, according to WSP director Oliver Reitz. However, IHK Business Manager Tanja Traub notes that the effects on businesses in the wider area around Pforzheim have been limited, although some have been affected.

In a positive note, Tanja Traub also mentions that the region has rallied together to help replace Klingel apprentices. Starting September 18th, the Job Agency will operate eight placement offices at the three Klingel locations as satellite offices.

For Klingel employees, the city has set up a job market and a special email address on its website to provide support and resources during this transition period.

In 2022, the number of socially insured employees in Pforzheim was approximately 59,000, with a steady increase over the years. Despite the challenges, the region remains a hub of economic activity and resilience.

In the upcoming Job Agency sessions, individuals seeking professional advancement may explore financing options for further education or career changes at the vocational training and further education fair Mühlacker-Enzkreis-Pforzheim on October 14, 2023. Simultaneously, numerous businesses with available positions are expected to be present at the October 21, 2023 job fair at the CongressCentrum Pforzheim, offering employment opportunities in the local business sector.
