SWPC Unveils 2024-2030 Sustainability Plan: Expanding Water Infrastructure, Boosting Private Sector Involvement
Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) has unveiled its sustainability plans, focusing on expanding water infrastructure and enhancing private sector involvement between 2024 and 2030. The company, governed by a five-member board, has shown commitment to environmental responsibility and ethical practices.
SWPC's first Sustainability Disclosure Report highlights its achievements and future goals. It aims to become the sole off-taker of all water produced in Saudi Arabia, bolstering its tendering arm. The company has demonstrated financial stability and organisational excellence, with full compliance to environmental regulations.
SWPC's 2024 forum, 'Empowering Partnerships for a Sustainable Water Future', resulted in over 10 memorandums of understanding with local and international partners. The company has 42 projects in various stages, including 9 under tendering, 22 under planning, 15 under contract management, and 4 under execution.
SWPC's Jubail 3A Independent Water Project received the 'Desalination Plant of the Year' award and offsets 60,000 tons of carbon emissions annually. The company has also shown environmental responsibility by planting 30,000 trees in 2024 and promoting the use of treated wastewater to improve land resilience.
SWPC's seven-year strategy (2024-2030) focuses on expanding water infrastructure projects and increasing private sector participation. The company's commitment to sustainability, ethical practices, and environmental responsibility is evident in its projects and initiatives.
