Start-up sector in Dresden flourishes with ExciteLab's launch

The Technical University of Dresden (TU Dresden) is set to launch a new initiative next October, aiming to drive the overall competitiveness of the region. Known as the ExciteLab, this innovative space is a collaboration between TU Dresden, led by Dr. Gregory Lecrivain, and the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR). The Leipzig SpinLab is also a key partner in managing the ExciteLab.

The ExciteLab is specifically designed to support high-tech startups focusing on key technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), semiconductors, robotics, sensors, and quantum computing. It is part of a broader competitiveness drive in the region and aims to bring science and industry together more effectively to shorten the development time from the first idea to market maturity.

The ExciteLab offers a comprehensive Accelerator program, which includes exciting pilot programs and one-on-one mentoring. This program is also supported by leading companies such as Infineon, Mazars, and ZEISS. Funding of 6,000 euros or more is available through the Accelerator program, and free or reduced participation in industry events is also offered.

The ExciteLab's Accelerator program is not just about funding and events, however. It is also about access to the startup community and partner networks. By joining the ExciteLab, startups will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and companies, potentially opening up new opportunities for collaboration and growth.

The ExciteLab also aims to increase the attractiveness and visibility of Dresden for international talents and investors. By bringing together science and industry, the ExciteLab hopes to create a vibrant and innovative ecosystem that will attract the best and brightest from around the world.

Applications for the ExciteLab's Accelerator program are being accepted until August 27, 2024. If you are a high-tech startup looking to take your business to the next level, the ExciteLab could be the perfect partner for you. Don't miss out on this opportunity to be a part of something exciting and innovative in Dresden.
