Starbucks to Close Some Swiss Stores, Plans New Locations
Starbucks has declared that certain of its Swiss stores will persist, notwithstanding a worldwide assessment of its international branch system. Although the precise number of closures and influenced workers is yet to be resolved, Switzerland remains a pivotal market for the coffee behemoth.
Starbucks currently manages around 57 coffee shops in Switzerland. Stores with low customer activity or uncertain financial prospects will be closed down. This mirrors a pattern of closures in the USA and Canada, where Starbucks is also reorganizing its operations. Despite these closures, Starbucks plans to open five new stores in Switzerland this year and one more in Interlaken in 2026. After a pause in expansion, the company aims to resume growth from 2026 onward, giving Swiss customers hope for new locations in the future.
While specific details about Starbucks' Swiss closures are still unclear, the company's dedication to the Swiss market is evident in its plans for new stores. After a period of restructuring, Starbucks seems set to continue its expansion in Switzerland from 2026.
