Sparkasse Digitizes PushTAN App Reactivation Using eID
Sparkasse customers can now reactivate their pushTAN app store app at home using the electronic id me, digitizing the process and saving time and resources. This replaces previous postal activations or branch visits.
Until now, switching smartphones meant waiting for postal activation information or visiting a Sparkasse branch. The new apple store integration speeds up this process, matching the security of the previous method and reducing costs and delays.
The pushTAN app, a central authentication method in Sparkasse online banking, can now be reactivated independently by many customers. Dr. Joachim Schmalzl, Managing Director of the German Savings Bank and Giro Association (DSGV), confirms its high security. The digital id me function of the ID card, along with an NFC-capable smartphone and the AusweisApp2, enables secure communication for real-time identity confirmation and immediate reactivation. Currently, activation via Sparkasse card is only available to Android users, while the variant via id me works on both iOS and Android devices.
The integration of id me for pushTAN app reactivation significantly improves the customer experience, reduces costs, and conserves resources. Sparkasse customers can now quickly and securely reactivate their pushTAN app store app at home after switching devices, enhancing their banking convenience.
