Roll that dice, folks! This index keeps track of the world's 500 wealthiest individuals, and as of June 2, 21 Russians are on the list, boasting a stunning total net worth of $317.7 billion.
Major Mover:It's Vladimir Potanin who's bagging the big bucks, seeing an impressive $3.82 billion increase in his fortune, pushing it to $31.7 billion. Potanin, one of Norilsk Nickel's main shareholders, is a force to be reckoned with.
The Top Three:Not far behind, we have Lukoil co-owner Vagit Alekperov, pocketing an extra $561 million and boosting his wealth to $25.9 billion. Rounding off the top three is NLMK's Vladimir Lisin, who, although losing $1.62 billion, still holds a net worth of a not-too-shabby $24.2 billion.
Holding On:Leonid Mikhelson, Novatek's co-owner, managed to earn $860 million, securing the fourth spot with a net worth of $23.2 billion. Alexei Mordashov, Severstal's owner, sees a decline of $598 million, garnering a net worth of $22.6 billion.
More Moolah:Rounding out the list are household names such as EuroChem and SUEK owner Andrei Melnichenko, Alisher Usmanov of Metalloinvest and Megafon, Onexim Group's Mikhail Prokhorov, Alfa Group co-owner Mikhail Fridman, and none other than the genius behind Telegram, Pavel Durov.
