Russia Removes 36.8 Billion Rubles of Unjustified Funds from Utility Tariffs

The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS Russia) has successfully removed a significant amount of unjustified funds from approved utility tariffs. This action, set to be completed by October 1, 2025, will see a total of 36.8 billion rubles excluded from the sector. The largest volume of these unjustified funds, amounting to 16 billion rubles, was found in the electricity sector. In the heat supply sector, 5.5 billion rubles were excluded, while in waste management, 5.3 billion rubles were removed. The water supply sector saw 2.1 billion rubles of unjustified funds excluded. These funds will no longer be included in the approved utility tariffs, ensuring fairer pricing for consumers. By October 1, 2025, FAS Russia aims to have excluded a total of 36.8 billion rubles of unjustified funds from utility tariffs. This action is expected to improve the transparency and fairness of the utility pricing system in Russia.
