Ruag's Schulz Steps Down as Board President, Succession Search Begins
Rainer Schulz, who has been serving as the board president of Ruag International since mid-May, has announced his decision not to seek re-election due to personal reasons. The Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport (VBS) is now leading the search for his successor.
Schulz joined the board in 2020 and was appointed board president in late April, later being elected in mid-May. During his tenure, he ensured continuity with employees and business partners, and closely accompanied the company's realignment. The parliament, under Schulz's leadership, decided to keep the aerospace division Beyond Gravity under state ownership.
In addition to Schulz's departure, Jürg Oleas and Andreas Spreiter are also stepping down from the Ruag International board. Oleas had been on the board since 2011, while Spreiter joined in 2024. The board has begun searching for qualified candidates to succeed them.
The VBS is set to appoint Ralph Müller as the new CEO of Ruag MRO Holding AG, effective March 1, 2025, following recent departures in the management board at Ruag International. The search for Schulz's successor is ongoing, with the VBS leading the process.
