Remnants of the Television Factory in Krasnoyarsk to Be Demolished
In the heart of Krasnoyarsk, the legacy Televisornyi Zavod on Ulitsa Televisornaya, 1, is about to undergo a significant transformation. The city council has announced the privatization of its remaining municipal assets, including 13 objects and a 17,046 square meter plot, collectively valued at 84.6 million rubles.
Up for auction are industrial facilities spanning a total of 6744.1 square meters, commercial buildings covering 4546.5 square meters, and the coveted 17,046 square meter plot. The auction will also include the perimeter fencing and smokestack.
Sadly, despite partial usage (with shops, auto services, and manufactures occupying some spaces), this former industrial hub remains a chaotic urban zone for decades. Lacking basic infrastructure such as regular streets and sidewalks, the surviving industrial areas have been adapted haphazardly, leaving residents and passersby less than impressed.
However, the public demand for rejuvenation of this territory is high. In 2023, the Televisornyi Zavod ranked among the top-3 zones in need of renovation, as chosen by Kransoyarsk residents in a poll conducted by the Project Master A2.
A few years ago, the sale of assets here started in 2015 after the owner — the St. Petersburg LLC "Kommerts Stroi" — filed for bankruptcy.
As of now, the exact redevelopment plans are unclear. Challenges such as economic instability and ongoing sanctions may affect investment and foreign participation in the project. However, there is potential for domestic investment and government support to drive the redevelopment forward.
It's impossible to accurately predict the direction of the Televisornyi Zavod's redevelopment without specific local or official announcements. For now, we can only eagerly await the transformation of this iconic yet neglected part of Krasnoyarsk.
