Regensburg County Administration Unveils New Photovoltaic Carport System
Regensburg County Administration has launched a new photovoltaic carport system, the second major renewable energy project by KERL in 2025. The opening was well-attended by local officials and KERL representatives.
The carport system, with a capacity of 156 kWp, is designed to meet the actual electricity needs of the county administration. It will supply the administrative building with clean, cost-effective power.
KERL, a cooperative founded by all municipalities of the county and the city of Regensburg, emphasizes the use of already sealed areas like parking lots for such projects. This follows their earlier success with a 135 kWp photovoltaic system on the roof of the Realschule Regenstauf, which cost around 120,000 euros to build. KERL's aim is to strengthen energy independence in the region.
The new photovoltaic carport system at Regensburg County Administration is now operational, providing a sustainable energy source for the administrative building. KERL continues to lead the way in renewable energy projects, utilizing existing infrastructure to enhance energy sovereignty.
