Railway closure at Kaulardstraße crossing
The Harbor and Freight Traffic Cologne AG (HGK) has announced that track works will take place at the Kaulardstraße railway crossing in Hürth-Efferen from April 12 to 17, 2025. As a result, several changes will affect public transportation in the area.
During this period, train line 18 will be suspended, and a train replacement service with buses, designated as "Line 118", will be established between the stops "Klettenbergpark" and "Hürth-Hermülheim". The regular "Ahl Schull/VHS" stop can be used instead of the "Kolpingstraße" stop during the closure.
For the four other stops not in service during the closure— "Zum Sonnenwinkel", "Hahnenstraße", "Robert-Bosch-Straße", and "Kalscheurener Straße"— passengers can use the "Efferen Stadtbahn" stop as an alternative.
In the direction of Cologne, normal departure times will apply for line 18, but it will return towards Bonn Hauptbahnhof from "Hürth-Hermülheim". Line 18 will run according to the regular schedule towards Bonn up to "Klettenbergpark" and back during the closure.
The city bus line 712 will be rerouted via Bahnstraße, Beselerstraße, and Bachstraße during the closure. Pedestrians can pass through the closed area, and detours will be signposted for motorists. The city bus line 712 will end at the "Efferen Stadtbahn" stop during the track works.
Residents will be informed via HGK's direct mail, and detours will be signposted for motorists and pedestrians can pass through the closed area. The replacement line 118 during the construction works at the Kaulardstraße railway crossing in Hürth-Efferen is operated by Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe (KVB).
We advise passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and to check the latest updates on the HGK website or via their mobile app.
