Quidax CEO Urges Global Crypto Players to Collaborate with Africa's Local Innovators

Buchi Okoro, CEO of Quidax, took the stage at Coindesk Consensus 2025 to rally international crypto players like Ripple, Bybit, and Yellow Card. Okoro, a Nigerian entrepreneur, urged these global stakeholders to collaborate with local African innovators to boost the continent's crypto economy.

Okoro stressed the importance of strategic partnerships between global crypto players and local African builders. He believes this collaboration is key to Africa's crypto growth. Despite Nigeria ranking second worldwide in crypto adoption in 2024, and other Sub-Saharan African countries following suit, the region's share of global crypto transaction volume remains small at 2.7%.

Okoro sees crypto as a path to financial freedom and transformation for Africa. He called on the global crypto community to view Africa not just as a market, but as a partner in shaping the global crypto future.

Okoro's appeal at Coindesk Consensus 2025 highlights the potential of Africa's crypto market. With strategic collaboration between international players and local innovators, the continent could unlock its full crypto potential, contributing more significantly to the global crypto landscape.
