Qatar set to welcome MWC25 Doha under the Prime Minister's guidance
MWC Doha 2025: Qatar's Global Digital Innovation Showcase
In November 2025, Qatar will host the first-ever Mobile World Congress (MWC) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the event is a testament to Qatar's commitment to digital transformation and its role as a global convener of technology leaders.
Organised by the GSMA and hosted by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) of the State of Qatar, MWC Doha will focus on three overarching themes: AI Nexus, Intelligent Economies, and Connected Industries.
AI Nexus will explore the transformative power of artificial intelligence across business, governance, and everyday life. Thematic tracks will delve into agentic AI, intelligent telecom networks, and more.
Intelligent Economies will highlight advancements in digital infrastructure, data sovereignty, and smart network deployment. Topics will include fintech, smart mobility, data centres, and 5G.
Connected Industries will examine the integration of frontier technologies in sectors like mobility, finance, energy, and logistics. Discussions will centre on IoT, satellite connectivity, and more.
The event, to be held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) on 25-26 November 2025, will feature exhibitions, dynamic networking spaces, and high-level panels led by hundreds of global speakers.
MWC Doha aligns with Qatar's national leadership's strategic vision to position Qatar at the forefront of global digital innovation. H.E. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated that hosting MWC Doha reinforces Qatar's role as a global convener of technology leaders and a regional hub for advanced connectivity, AI integration, and smart infrastructure.
The event will attract international participants from around 60 countries, with approximately 40% of attendees at the Director level or senior executive level. These participants will include technology leaders, investors, policymakers, innovators, and experts from the global mobile ecosystem.
MWC25 Doha supports national efforts to accelerate digital transformation across sectors like government services, education, mobility, commerce, and energy. The event also features the 4YFN zone, a key platform for the startup ecosystem, connecting global investors with founders to shape the future of technology innovation.
Flagship features brought to Doha from Barcelona include 4YFN and the GSMA Ministerial Programme. The dedicated GSMA Ministerial Programme brings together regional and international policymakers to shape the future of the digital ecosystem in the MENA region.
MWC Doha 2025 reflects Qatar's commitment to a sustainable, innovation-driven digital economy in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030. Ooredoo is a Strategic Partner, and Qatar University is the Educational Partner for MWC25 Doha. The event has already confirmed two country pavilions featuring South Korean and Turkish companies.
Vivek Badrinath, the director general at GSMA, expressed excitement about bringing MWC to Qatar for the first time, stating that the region strives to advance the next generation of digital societies. Hosting MWC Doha, he said, underscores Qatar's ambition to be a leading player in the global digital economy.
