Protesting actions initiate at the commencement of the "Super Returns" private equity conference, involving tennis star involvement.

The 2025 edition of SuperReturn International, the preeminent gathering for private equity and venture capital professionals, is set to take place from June 2nd to June 6th at the InterContinental Hotel in Berlin. This annual event, a cornerstone of the SuperReturn series, attracts thousands of attendees from over 70 countries, including more than 1,800 Limited Partners (LPs) and 2,700 General Partners (GPs). The assembled professionals collectively manage over $50 trillion in assets, highlighting the conference's significant scale and influence.

Among those attending will be Rob Lucas, CEO of CVC, Orlando Bravo, founder and managing partner of Thoma Bravo, David Rubenstein, co-founder and co-chairman of Carlyle, and Serena Williams, 23-time Grand Slam champion, entrepreneur, investor, and founder of Serena Ventures. Williams, who manages $750 million in assets, will entertain attendees with a performance during the opening program.

The event has faced criticism, with some expressing reservations about the cost of attendance. A day ticket for private equity managers is priced at €3,500, while a full conference pass costs €6,598. However, institutional investors, whose investment billions are essential to the conference, get in for free.

In addition to the networking opportunities and high-profile speakers, SuperReturn International offers a wide range of sessions focused on current trends and future opportunities. Keynote interviews, panel discussions, breakout sessions, and specialized summits on topics such as secondaries, sports investing, climate and energy transition, technology value creation, ESG integration, and women in private markets will be on the agenda. The event also features side events and exclusive networking opportunities to facilitate connections and knowledge sharing.

This year, there will be a protest action outside the InterContinental, organized by the tenants' association, Verdi, and Finanzwende, to draw attention to the billions invested by the private equity industry. Despite any dissent, the conference remains a critical networking hub for senior decision-makers in the private capital ecosystem. The event’s comprehensive agenda and global reach make it indispensable for professionals seeking to stay at the forefront of private capital trends.
