Propose Plans for Development at Domsheide, Bremen - Call for Intentions for Rebuilding Old Post Office 1

Hear ye, hear ye! Bremen's Economic Development Corporation (WFB) is on the hunt for creative minds to revamp the strategic hotspot, Domsheide 15 — formerly known as Post Office 1.

This central location serves as a junction between the city center and Ostertor, making it a prime piece of real estate for urban development. "The city center of the future will be a bustling hub integrating commerce, gastronomy, culture, housing, urban production, and startups," shares Kristina Vogt, Senator for Economy, Harbors, and Transformation.

With Post Office 1 leading the charge, expect this property to blend seamlessly into the new urban vision. Covering 1,262 square meters, the building offers a net floor area of 7,140 square meters and a gross floor area of 8,568 square meters.

Show ‘em what you've got by February 7th!

Interested parties can showcase their ideas and submit their creative concepts using the Expression of Interest procedure. Submissions are due by February 7, 2025, 12:00 noon, and should be sent to the WFB in writing. The invitation to tender and more details are available in the "Tenders" section at www.wfb-bremen.de.

This Expression of Interest procedure aims to gather a broad catalog of interested developers and generate forward-thinking ideas for Post Office 1's future use and structural development, potentially sparking impetus projects for Bremen's city center.

About Post Office 1

In May, the city of Bremen signed an agreement with Deutsche Post AG to claim custody of Post Office 1. Since 1869, the city has owned the property, and the hereditary building right agreement between the city and St.-Johannis-Schule, occupying the adjacent Post Office 1 after 2004 renovations, remains unchanged.
