Primark launches a new retail outlet in Portugal
Fast Fashion Giant Primark Sets Sail for Portugal's Shopping Centers
Hear ye, hear ye! The seas of fashion are about to welcome a new ship, as Primark prepares to anchor its 12th store in Portugal at the Espacło Guimarães Shopping Centre on May 9th. This battleground for style, a battle fought with affordable fashion, will be a part of the brand's previously announced four-store expansion in the first half of 2024 - a bold investment of 40 million euros.
"This maritime venture will birth more than 100 seafaring souls, adding to Primark's loyal crew of 1,800 in this fair nation," shares the brand, in a jolly scribe. With over 2,860 square meters of retail space, the new store boasts 13 fitting rooms and 17 payment checkouts, including six self-service checkouts.
Nelson Ribeiro, Captain Primark Portugal, exclaims with gusto, as per the official broadcast, "This voyage marks another strong stride in our conquest across the land, fortifying our pledge to bestow affordable attire upon more customers in this enchanting realm."
Angélica Falagán, Director of Espacło Guimarães Shopping Centre, echoes the excitement, quoting the same proclamation, "The arrival of Primark is a beacon of celebration for our harbour, reaffirming our vow to our patrons, offering them a more diverse and delightful shopping experience. We are beyond thrilled to welcome Primark and extend our gratitude for the trust they've placed in Espacło Guimarães."
Last June, the brand unsheathed plans of investing over 40 million euros in the Portuguese market, with the addition of four new stores across four diverse cities. Primark Montijo was the first vessel to set sail, while Guimarães will now follow as the second port of call, with Viseu and Covilhã awaiting their turn in the coming year.
With these brave provisions, Primark Portugal continues to rake in new horizons, increasing its retail territory by over 30 percent and creating upwards of 500 new positions throughout the land. Furthermore, the empire harbors ambitions of refurbishing some of its established settlements, such as Sintra and Portimão, with other transformations in the workings.

P.S. By the way, Primark also eyes the Palácio do Gelo as a future hunting ground, with an anticipated store opening in June 2025.
