Postponement of ZDK's Demand for Digital Hungarian Data Collection

The Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) in Germany has announced a delay in the introduction of the QR code for digital HU data retrieval, initially scheduled for September 16. The delayed implementation will now occur alongside the introduction of the digital vehicle registration certificate (DFZ).

Until now, vehicle owners or their representatives could retrieve HU data via the KBA's website or using the KBA application from the central vehicle register. The digital inspection report via QR code was intended as an addition to the current paper-based report, serving as a more convenient method for vehicle owners.

However, the exact reasons for the delay in the QR code implementation are not specified. The Federal Ministry of Transport has informed the Central Association of the German Automobile Industry (ZDK) about the postponement.

The ZDK has voiced concerns regarding the planned annual HU obligation for older vehicles by the EU Commission. They have also expressed demands for improvement in the Workshop EU guidelines on vehicle data.

It is worth noting that the central vehicle register was previously a means for vehicle owners or their representatives to retrieve HU data digitally. The KBA was previously involved in the digital HU data retrieval process.

The introduction of the digital vehicle registration certificate (DFZ) is also on the horizon, although the exact timeline is not specified. Order acceptance, representation certificates, and identity checks will remain unchanged for testing stations.

Despite the delay, the ZDK has expressed its stance on the matter regarding the annual main inspection. The delayed QR code implementation will not affect the existing obligations of testing stations.

The responsibility for the introduction of the digital vehicle registration certificate along with the delayed QR code for digital HU (main inspection) data retrieval lies with the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (Federal Motor Transport Authority) in Germany.

As the situation develops, updates regarding the implementation of the QR code for digital HU data retrieval and the digital vehicle registration certificate (DFZ) will be provided. Stay tuned for more information.
