Partnering with GRID Alternatives, Savant Aids Underserved Regions in Puerto Rico and Mexico through Sustainable Energy Solutions
Savant and GRID Alternatives have formalized a charitable collaboration to foster sustainable energy solutions and improve economic and environmental justice in communities across Mexico and Puerto Rico. This alliance, one of the largest in the sector, focuses on installing renewable energy storage systems and training local workforces.
Under the partnership, Savant will donate 20 units of its Power Storage systems for renewable energy projects throughout the aforementioned territories. Additionally, the company will offer technical assistance and support training programs for GRID's hands-on Installation Basics Training (IBT) courses.
These storage systems, equipped with user-friendly apps, scalable inverters, and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries, offer a capacity ranging from 20 kWh to 200 kWh. Designed to cater to varying energy demands, the systems will assure cost savings and stored power for communities partially or fully lacking stable and consistent power supplies.
As part of the endeavor, Savant's Power Storage technology will be introduced to facilities such as elderly centers, children care homes, residential hospices, disaster relief organizations, and women-owned businesses. These entities will now function off the grid, benefiting from secure and continuous access to essential resources.
According to Savant CEO Bob Madonna, "We are proud to contribute our energy storage technologies, educational resources, and time to GRID, a non-profit with a mission aligned with ours – bringing clean, renewable power to more living spaces and facilities worldwide."
This association aims not merely to introduce clean energy alternatives but also create employment opportunities in the local communities. GRID Alternatives' vice president of international programs, Jenean Smith, emphasized that this partnership contributes to developing the upcoming generation of solar and battery installers, ensuring their access to emerging technologies and career advancement opportunities.
