Over 1,000 Cornwall Homes to Get Energy-Saving Upgrades in £20.7m Scheme
Over 1,000 homes in Cornwall are set to receive energy-saving upgrades, thanks to a £20.7m Home Upgrade grant. The scheme targets private homes in rural areas and social housing, with residents of the least energy-efficient homes prioritised.
Cornwall Council is leading the initiative, investing £2.5m, with the government contributing £1.76m. An additional £4.26m is available for social housing energy efficiency improvements. Eligible homes have an energy performance certificate between band D and G and a household income of less than £31,000.
Upgrades include better insulation and solar panels. Around 200 homes managed by Cornwall Housing have been earmarked for these improvements. Residents can find out more about the scheme and their eligibility by contacting local authorities or relevant organisations in Cornwall.
The energy-saving upgrades aim to improve living conditions and reduce energy bills for residents in rural Cornwall. The scheme is expected to benefit over 1,000 homes, contributing to the region's sustainability and energy efficiency goals.
