Our localities nurture collaborations with Korean companies on our site
The three Vietnamese provinces of Tây Ninh, Nghệ An, and Quảng Trị recently participated in a conference in Seoul, aiming to facilitate economic, trade, and technological cooperation with Korean businesses. Held on September 17, the event was significant as it followed General Secretary Tô Lâm's recent State visit to the RoK. Nguyễn Thị Thái Bình, minister-counsellor at the Vietnamese Embassy, emphasized the conference's role in translating the outcomes of General Secretary Tô Lâm's visit into tangible economic, trade, and technological cooperation.
During the conference, workshops were held to connect Quảng Trị with Hanwha Energy Group and Tây Ninh with GS Group, exploring further partnership opportunities. Local leaders from the provinces expressed their willingness to work with Korean partners to implement projects.
Many Korean businesses praised Việt Nam's recent progress in administrative reforms, improving its business environment, and fostering sustainable growth. Ambassador Vũ Hò̀ stated that since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1992, the two countries have made substantial progress, and Việt Nam continues to prioritize its comprehensive strategic partnership with the RoK.
In his closing remarks, Ambassador Vũ Hò̀ emphasized that the Việt Nam-RoK partnership is one of the most significant and that both nations are committed to expanding collaboration into areas like the digital economy, high-tech, and clean energy. Samsung, LG, GS, SK, and small- and medium-sized enterprises are thriving in Việt Nam, which is seen as a vital bridge for Korean businesses expanding globally.
Challenges such as administrative complexities and cultural differences were acknowledged, but participants agreed on the significant potential for cooperation, particularly in emerging fields like digital economy, innovation, high-tech industries, renewable energy, and infrastructure. The three provinces showcased their strategic advantages, economic development, investment policies, and priority areas at the conference.
The conference was attended by 150 participants, including representatives from major Korean firms such as GS, SK, Hanwha Energy, Hyundai, and various RoK economic cooperation associations. Nguyễn Thị Thái Bình explicitly mentioned participants from companies outside the provinces Tây Ninh, Nghệ An, and Quảng Trít, but the specific company names were not publicly disclosed.
Since establishing a strategic comprehensive partnership, Vietnam and the RoK have become key economic partners. The conference in Seoul marked another step forward in strengthening this partnership and fostering productive collaboration between the three Vietnamese provinces and Korean businesses. With creativity and determination, these provinces and their Korean partners are confident they will find ample opportunities for productive collaboration.
