The Philippine Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced a unique initiative for the month of August 2025. Passengers who hold a Philippine National ID will be eligible for free rides on the MRT-3 every Wednesday during specific time windows.
Eligibility and Requirements
To avail of the free rides, passengers must present a physical National ID card, a printed paper version, or a digital copy of their National ID at the station service gate. This program is specifically designed for holders of the Philippine National ID.
Time and Dates
The free rides will be available on August 6, 13, 20, and 27, during two time windows: from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Purpose of the Program
This initiative by the DOTr aims to promote the use of the National ID for easier and faster transactions in both public and private sectors. It also supports the more inclusive delivery of social services as envisioned by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
