Nigeria to Host International Oil Spill Summit, Showcase Innovative Solutions

Nigeria's National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA) and Green Clean Innovation Hub are set to host an International Oil Spill Summit and Expo. Aligning with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, the event aims to tackle oil spill impacts and showcase innovative solutions.

The summit, to be held in Nigeria, will bring together local and international stakeholders. NOSDRA Director-General, Chukwuemeka Woke, and Green Clean Innovation Hub's CEO, Promise Amaha, recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to make this happen.

Woke expects the summit to promote collaboration and enhance Nigeria's oil spill response capacity. He believes it will help bridge gaps and resolve challenges among stakeholders. Amaha welcomed the partnership, describing it as a significant step forward.

The Expo will introduce the first-ever Oil Spill Host Communities in Renewed Hope Initiative. This will integrate affected communities into surveillance and capacity-building efforts.

The International Oil Spill Summit and Expo, supported by President Bola Tinubu's agenda, is poised to advance Nigeria's environmental protection goals. With NOSDRA's commitment to partnering relevant stakeholders and Green Clean Innovation Hub's innovative approach, the event promises to be a significant step towards sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
