New Nestle CEO Urges Employees to Embrace Change for a Faster, Smarter Future
Philipp Navratil, the new CEO of Nestle, has called on the company's employees to take responsibility and be open to new ideas as he sets out to restructure the world's largest food company. In a post published on LinkedIn on Thursday, Navratil expressed his intentions to accelerate the restructuring of Nestle, focusing on strengthening collaboration, consumer-centric strategies, and adapting to the rapid changes in the market.
Navratil, who previously served as the boss of Nespresso, took over as CEO at the beginning of September, succeeding Nestle veteran Laurent Freixe, who was dismissed after an internal relationship and allegations of favoritism. Freixe's departure marked the end of an era for Nestle, with Paul Bulcke, Chairman of the Board of Directors, also set to leave after 46 years with the company. Vice Chairman Pablo Isla will take over as Chairman of the Board on October 1, 2025.
In his first public statements since taking up his post, Navratil emphasised the need for Nestle to become faster, smarter, and better. He has not yet named any specific measures, but has promised to implement the 2025 targets with determination. In July, Nestle announced it was aiming for higher organic sales growth this year and a profit margin of at least 16%.
Navratil's call for change and innovation comes as the food industry faces increasing pressure to adapt to shifting consumer preferences and market dynamics. He encourages Nestle employees to embrace this challenge, stating that the company's future success depends on its ability to be agile, innovative, and consumer-focused.
As Navratil settles into his new role, he will face numerous challenges, but his determination and vision for the future of Nestle are clear. With a focus on collaboration, consumer-centric strategies, and embracing change, Navratil aims to lead Nestle into a new era of success.
