Moglix ventures into the energy industry through a partnership with DRG Industries and their next-generation bitumen plant

Moglix, one of Asia's leading B2B commerce companies, has announced the inauguration of its greenfield bitumen processing facility under DRG Industries, the manufacturing arm of Moglix. The facility, located in Kosi Kalan, Mathura, is set to commence commercial production in July 2025.

This state-of-the-art facility, spread over 3.5 acres, has an installed monthly processing capacity of over 28,000 MT. It will produce a new generation of value-added, high-performance bitumen products, including polymer-modified bitumen, microsurfacing-grade emulsions, and hard binders. These products are designed to improve road durability, reduce maintenance frequency, enhance safety, and lower the carbon footprint of road construction and maintenance.

Microsurfacing, one of the facility's key offerings, is globally recognised for sealing surface cracks, improving road friction, and increasing durability. Compared to traditional resurfacing, microsurfacing can double pavement life while reducing carbon emissions by up to 44%.

The facility integrates advanced Denimotech mills, fully automated processing lines, and a dedicated in-house R&D center. Moglix is investing in indigenous R&D to develop bitumen solutions tailored to India's diverse terrain, traffic patterns, and climate zones.

Strategically located, the plant serves northern and central India, including states like Uttar Pradesh, NCR, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and also caters to export markets such as Nepal. The entry into bitumen manufacturing is aimed at building safer, smarter roads.

Rahul Garg, Founder & CEO of Moglix, stated that the facility is a commitment to building roads that last longer, perform better, and serve more, with responsibility at the core. As a greenfield project, DRG Industries demonstrates Moglix's ability to design, develop, and operationalize sustainable industrial infrastructure.

The facility uses biomass-fueled, carbon-neutral high-efficiency boilers equipped with scrubber systems and filter bags. Moglix serves over 1,000 large enterprises and 3,000+ factories across various sectors. The company plans to expand its bitumen manufacturing footprint across India.

This strategic approach contributes to India's infrastructure development by providing high-quality, durable road materials that enhance road longevity, reduce maintenance costs, and improve road safety, supporting the country’s vision for "Viksit Bharat" (developed India). By promoting advanced materials like polymer-modified bitumen and microsurfacing, Moglix helps build roads that are stronger, smarter, and safer, aligning with national goals to reduce road accidents by 2030 while minimizing environmental footprint.

The facility is expected to generate local employment and strengthen the regional SME ecosystem through vendor and contractor partnerships. Moglix's investment in this greenfield project underscores its commitment to sustainable industrial growth and infrastructure development in India.
