Mitsubishi Motors Unveils 2025 Outlander Lineup with Enhancements and New Features

Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) has announced its five-year business plan, "Momentum 2030", and its 2025 model year lineup, which includes significant updates to the Outlander and Outlander Sport.

The highlight of the 2025 Outlander Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) is its powerful twin electric motor and 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, delivering a combined output of 248 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. The powertrain remains unchanged from the previous year but offers a strong performance for its class.

Key updates and features for the 2025 model include:

Interior and Cabin: - An upgraded interior with an upscale cabin design different from the 2024 model. - Seating for up to seven people with flexible configurations, including a three-passenger bench in the second row and two rear seats. - Over 122 cubic feet of passenger space and up to 64 cubic feet of cargo volume with rows folded down, offering family-friendly versatility.

Technology and Convenience: - A standard 8-inch infotainment touchscreen on the base ES model and a larger 9-inch screen with navigation on higher trims. - The base model includes Android Auto, Bluetooth, rearview camera, dual-zone climate control, and six speakers, while higher trims add wireless charging, multi-view camera system, and integrated HD radio. - A 12.3-inch digital driver-information screen is standard across the range. - Steering wheel includes controls for smartphone and audio, plus voice recognition for hands-free adjustment of cabin settings. - Drive mode selector offers varied options such as Eco, Normal, Tarmac, Power, Snow, Gravel, and Mud for different driving conditions.

Performance and Driving: - The 2025 Outlander PHEV features Mitsubishi's evolved Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system, enhancing driving experience and handling in varied conditions. - The electric-only range is up to 38 miles, and the total combined electric plus gasoline range reaches 420 miles on a full charge and tank.

The Outlander Plug-in Hybrid will continue to offer its top-of-the-line Platinum Edition trim and the popular Black Edition on the SEL trim. The Outlander Sport, on the other hand, comes with Mitsubishi's All-Wheel Control (AWC) as standard equipment and is fully adventure-ready.

Every Mitsubishi Motors vehicle also comes with a five-year/60,000-mile limited warranty, a seven-year/100,000-mile corrosion/perforation warranty, and five-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance. The 2025 Outlander will undergo a mid-cycle refresh, with its interior and exterior revised.

My MITSUBISHI CONNECT, MMNA's connected car service, will offer a Safeguard 5-year free trial and a Remote Services 12-month free trial for the 2025 Outlander Plug-in Hybrid. Pricing for the 2025 Outlander will be released later this year.

The 2025 Outlander Plug-In Hybrid delivers a combination of enhanced interior comfort, advanced technology, robust powertrain performance, and refined all-wheel-drive capabilities tailored to families and budget-conscious buyers seeking a practical plug-in hybrid SUV. MMNA plans to nearly double its vehicle lineup by 2030, with one new or completely refreshed model debuting each year.
