Porto Metro to Undergo Technical Work, Affecting Services from August 8 to 17
The Porto Metro will undergo technical work at Fonte do Cuco and Senhora da Hora stations, resulting in service suspensions and partial line terminations. Here's what passengers need to know:
From August 8 to 11
During this period, all trips departing from Estádio do Dragão station will terminate at Senhora da Hora station, not continuing beyond.
Trains from Póvoa de Varzim (Red Line) and the Airport (Violet Line) will terminate at Custóias station. On the Green Line, routes from ISMAI will terminate at Cândido dos Reis station.
A bus replacement service provided by STCP will cover affected areas, ensuring alternative transportation during the suspension.
From August 14 to 17
Similar work and service suspension will occur at Rua da Lagoa near Senhora da Hora station. The same pattern of bus alternative service and adjusted metro line terminations will be in place, with service suspended at Senhora da Hora.
From August 14th to 17th, STCP buses will provide service near Fonte do Cuco, Vasco da Gama, and Senhora da Hora stations with 12-minute frequencies.
Important Reminders
- Scooters must be closed on buses.
- During the same period, all trips departing from Estádio do Dragão station will terminate at Senhora da Hora station.
- On the Green Line, the route from ISMAI will terminate at Cândido dos Reis station during this period.
- On buses, bicycles are not permitted.
- All STCP bus customers must validate their Andante tickets inside the metro stations.
The Work and its Purpose
The intervention aims to replace the switches at Fonte do Cuco and Rua da Lagoa, where the Red and Green lines meet. The dates for the work were chosen to coincide with the lower demand for the metro, which typically occurs in the first half of August and even less so on weekends.

On the metro and buses, animals (except assistance dogs) cannot be transported unless they are properly secured in an appropriate container.
During this weekend, services from Estádio do Dragão will also terminate at Senhora da Hora station. An alternative transportation service, provided by STCP, has already been scheduled.
Passengers are advised to expect partial line terminations and rely on bus substitution services to cover travel gaps caused by these technical works at the two affected stations during these specified dates and times.
