Spanish grocery chain Mercadona has announced that its newly opened store in Fafe will donate basic necessities to the Santa Casa da Misericórdia daily, as part of its Social Responsibility Policy.

Food donation is a key strategy for Mercadona to combat food waste and fulfill its social obligations, according to a statement released by the company. The initiative reflects the company's commitment to sharing a portion of what it receives from society.

While the specific details of their Social Action Plan are not provided in the context of the Fafe store, Mercadona has already provided over 1,340 tonnes of basic necessities to various organizations in other regions.
