Massive Bicycle Park at Schneeberg: €2.6 million Invested for the Thrilling Experience
In the picturesque town of Loosenheim, Austria, preparations are underway for a significant addition to the region's tourism landscape. The much-anticipated Alpen Bikepark Schneeberg is set to open its doors in spring 2026, transforming the Schneeberg mountain into a haven for bikers of all skill levels.
Two local hotels, the Schneeberghof and the Forellenhof, will soon join the ranks as 'Bike Hotels,' offering accommodations tailored to bikers visiting the park. This development is expected to provide up to 5,000 additional overnight stays per year, contributing to a surge in visitors to the park.
At the heart of these developments is the Schneebergbahn, managed by Hubert Resch. Resch is overseeing the construction of a Shop&Rent facility at the Schneeberg cable car station, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025. The Shop&Rent will offer bike rentals, equipment, and courses, making it a one-stop shop for bikers.
The Alpen Bikepark Schneeberg will span an impressive 15 kilometers, featuring seven trails of varying difficulty levels. This includes a flow line, a 'Kids&Skills Area,' and a jump line, which will all be ready for use in spring 2026. By 2028, additional trails, a second freeride track, and more jumps will be added, further enhancing the park's appeal.
Deputy Governor Udo Landbauer is optimistic about the positive impact of the Alpen Bikepark Schneeberg on the region. He anticipates a significant boost to the local economy and believes the park will strengthen the region in the long term. In fact, organizers expect around 25,000 visitors in the first three years alone.
The Alpen Bikepark Schneeberg is poised to become the future star attraction of the year-round Schneeberg tourism, catering to both experienced downhill mountain bikers and families with children. This exciting development is expected to usher in a new era of recreational tourism on the highest mountain in Lower Austria. Construction of the park is set to begin on May 12, 2023, with a total investment of 2.6 million euros.
As the countdown to the opening of the Alpen Bikepark Schneeberg continues, the region eagerly awaits the arrival of this exciting new attraction.
