Mass production of the Tai 7 SUV commences by BYD Fang Cheng Bao, with a planned launch in Q4.
The automotive industry is abuzz with excitement as Chinese automaker Fang Cheng Bao unveils its latest offering, the Tai 7 hybrid SUV. This new addition to the Fang Cheng Bao family is set to revolutionise the family car market, combining smart technology, balanced performance, and a spacious interior.
Exterior Design and Dimensions
The Tai 7 boasts a modern yet robust design, with dimensions of 4,999 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, 1,865 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. The design features strong roof rails and swing-out rear doors, making it easy for loading. Tires are sized at 19 or 20 inches, suitable for family driving and mixed road conditions.
Engines, Powertrain, and Hybrid System
Under the hood, the Tai 7 is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 115 kW (154 hp), paired with two e-motors: a front TZ210XYC electric motor with a peak power of 160 kW (215 hp) and a rear TZ200XSBN with 200 kW (268 hp). A single electric motor option is also available for 200 kW. The vehicle utilises the brand-new DMS plug-in hybrid system.
Interior and Equipment
The interior of the Tai 7 offers a comfortable 5-seat configuration, with options for leather and premium materials. A large floating central touchscreen is available for infotainment and system control. The multi-function steering wheel includes a sporty flat-bottom design, and stylish interior colours are offered, including an orange accent.
The vehicle is equipped with an advanced infotainment system supporting smart connectivity features and an intelligent "God’s Eye" driving assistance system using LiDAR technology. Optional drone integration is available for enhanced user experience and safety.
Battery and Electric Range
The entry-level model comes with a 26.6 kWh LFP battery, providing an electric range of 100 – 105 km. The top-trim model features a 35.6 kWh FinDreams-made LFP pack, offering an electric range of 130 km.
Tablet Integration
BYD has developed its own tablet that will integrate with the Tai 7's vehicle system, enabling multi-screen collaboration.
Expected Release Details
Mass production of the BYD Fang Cheng Bao Tai 7 has begun, with the official market launch scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025.
With its smart technology, balanced performance, and spacious interior, the Tai 7 is poised to appeal to families seeking a vehicle that caters to their urban driving needs while offering the largest interior space among Fang Cheng Bao's existing products. The Tai 7 is the second model in Fang Cheng Bao's Tai series, which, along with the Tai 3, targets the family car market.
