Major Road Closures and Disruptions Planned in Region Over Coming Months
Several road closures and disruptions are set to occur in the region over the coming months, affecting various routes and towns. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
Starting in October, the K 516 between Schmeheim and Dietzhausen will be fully closed on the 6th and 7th, each day from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, due to tree felling operations. Similarly, the K 2526 between Ritschenhausen and Bauerbach will be closed from the 7th to the 9th, daily during the same hours. Meanwhile, the L 1026 OD Seligenthal, Gothaer Street, will remain closed until October 30, 2025, for canal and road construction.
Further closures include the K 2523 in Schwallungen OT Schwarzbach, Hauptstraße, which will be shut down on the 13th and 14th of October, each day from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, due to tree felling. The L 1024 in Fambach, Öhlmühle, will experience road narrowing until November 21, 2025, for new cycle path construction. Additionally, the L 1118 near Suhler Street will be fully closed from the 6th to the 8th of October for track work at the railway crossing.
Lane closures are also planned for the L 2668 in Wolfmannshausen, Queienfelder Street, from October 6, 2025, to November 28, 2025, due to new power line construction. The L 1024 OD Brotterode-Trusetal will have a lane closure with traffic lights until December 31, 2025, for telecommunications expansion. Lastly, the B 19 in Wasungen, Schwallunger Street, will experience traffic disruptions through traffic light installation until December 31, 2025, due to a construction site exit.
Motorists are urged to check their routes and allow extra time for journeys during these periods. Diversions will be in place where possible, and updates will be provided as needed. It is expected that these closures and disruptions will cause some inconvenience but will ultimately contribute to improved infrastructure in the region.
