Luxury real estate property linked to Karl Lagerfeld at risk of confiscation close to Paris

Ready for a piece of fashion history? That's the question Paris Notaires Services poses on their Facebook page, announcing the upcoming auction of the Domaine de Voisins - once the residence of the iconic fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld. This picturesque estate, nestled within a two-hectare park and just a quick twenty-minute drive from the capital, was earlier owned by the poet Charles Leconte de Lisle before Lagerfeld purchased it in 2014.

Despite his passing in 2019, the Pavillon de Voisins, as Lagerfeld affectionately named it, stands as an embodiment of his meticulous touch. Having thoroughly renovated the neoclassical bourgeois house built in the mid-19th century, he equipped it with all the comforts deserving of a luxurious villa. With high-end finishes, from the quality of its parquet floors to the presence of an elevator serving every level, this villa offers a glimpse into Lagerfeld's distinctive eye for luxury.

Spanning across 600 square meters, the main villa boasts three reception rooms, a large modern kitchen, seven bedrooms, and four bathrooms. The property features a two-hectare wooded park, two guest houses, a caretaker's house, a tennis court, a swimming pool, and a pool house with sauna, complete with large glass doors opening onto the pool. Intriguingly, this 19th-century property is rated D on the energy performance diagnosis (DPE), ensuring it's not a thermal leak.

Convinced? The auction takes place on June 17 at 10:00 AM at Arias Notaires in Paris. But if you can't make it in person, don't worry – you can bid remotely! The Paris Notaries Chamber is organizing visits to the property on May 23 and June 4, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. As for the starting price, it's a tidy 4,635 million euros.

Curious for more? Karl Lagerfeld, renowned for his work with Chanel and as a collector of historic properties, was known for his love of art and architecture. One of his other notable properties is the Château de La Roche-Guyon, a historical estate in France. Next time, grab a front-row seat to fashion history and own a piece of it!
