Ludhiana saw destruction of four more colonies, as the relentless enforcement by GLADA persisted

Authorized colonies and their approved maps, as endorsed by GLADA, are now accessible on the official website www.glada.gov.in. This provision empowers homebuyers to make informed decisions and shields them from the danger of unapproved layouts.

GLADA Conducts Demolition Drive Against Unauthorized Colonies in Greater Ludhiana Area

The Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) has taken a decisive step towards curbing the spread of unauthorized colonies in the region. In a recent enforcement action, GLADA carried out a demolition drive against six unauthorized colonies and one illegal building in Mullanpur, Manakwal, and Dhandra villages.

The special enforcement team, deployed for the operation, peacefully dismantled illegal structures and roads without resistance. This demolition drive is part of GLADA's ongoing efforts to stop the spread of unauthorized colonies and protect innocent people from being misled by illegal developers.

Buying properties in unauthorized colonies may result in a lack of basic facilities like water supply, sewerage, or electricity. To avoid such situations, GLADA urges citizens to check the status of properties on its official website (www.glada.gov.in) before purchasing. The website provides a detailed list of authorized colonies and their approved maps.

GLADA's goal is clear: to protect the public from fraudulent developers and ensure compliance with government regulations. Sandeep Kumar, the Chief Administrator of GLADA, emphasized that these drives are part of a broader strategy to prevent the spread of unauthorized colonies at their inception.

It's important to note that the colonisers in question continued construction despite repeated warnings and notices from the authorities. This disregard for the law has led to the current situation, and GLADA continues to warn against the spread of unauthorized colonies in the Greater Ludhiana Area.

More such demolition drives are being planned in the coming weeks by GLADA. These actions are not just about dismantling illegal structures, but also about sending a strong message to those who flout the law: GLADA will not tolerate the proliferation of unauthorized colonies in the region.

In addition to the demolition drive in Mullanpur, Manakwal, and Dhandra, GLADA has recently conducted multiple enforcement actions in other villages such as Jandiali, Bholapur, Sahibana, Jaspal Bangar, Pawa, Gobindgarh, Sahnewal, and Bhadla. These actions have included removing illegal roads, constructions, and structures.

GLADA urges buyers to verify the legitimacy of properties and encourages filing FIRs against developers of unauthorized colonies. By taking these steps, GLADA hopes to create a safer and more regulated environment for all citizens in the Greater Ludhiana Area.
