L'Oréal Reports €15.1B in 9-Month Turnover, Celebrates 'Because I'm Worth It' Slogan
L'Oréal, the global cosmetics giant, has announced a turnover of €15,087 million in the first nine months of this financial year. This figure represents a 5.1% increase compared to the same period last year. The company has celebrated the 40th anniversary of its iconic slogan, 'Because I'm worth it', with a star-studded event in Paris.
The slogan, created by Ilon Specht at the age of 23 for the Préference hair dye line, was designed to empower women and challenge the macho image prevalent at the time. It was first used in 1973 and has since become a symbol of the brand's commitment to women's empowerment. Over the years, the slogan has evolved, with variations like 'Because you're worth it' and 'Because we're worth it'.
The 40th anniversary event in Paris brought together L'Oréal ambassadors from around the world. Jane Fonda, the US actress, was the master of ceremonies. Other notable attendees included Freida Pinto from India, Fan Bing Bing from China, and Inès de la Fressange from France. The event also marked the occasion for Aimee Mullins, the US Paralympic athlete and L'Oréal ambassador, to celebrate the anniversary. Throughout its history, L'Oréal has engaged a variety of prominent personalities as brand ambassadors. Some of these include Cindy Crawford, Laetitia Casta, Gong Li, Andie MacDowell, Penélope Cruz, Ruth Negga, Helen Mirren, Cate Blanchett, Gemma Chan, and Camila Cabello.
L'Oréal's turnover increase reflects the company's continued success in the cosmetics sector. The celebration of the 'Because I'm worth it' slogan demonstrates the brand's commitment to empowering women and promoting self-worth. With a diverse range of brand ambassadors representing the company worldwide, L'Oréal continues to strengthen its position as a leader in the industry.
