Gibson Dunn & Crutcher Bolsters Real Estate Practice with David Perechocky Appointment

Gibson Dunn & Crutcher has announced the appointment of David Perechocky as a partner to their New York office. This move is expected to significantly boost the capabilities of the firm's real estate practice.

David Perechocky, a seasoned real estate transactional lawyer, brings a wealth of experience in Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), real estate private equity sponsors, and related businesses. His expertise extends to public and private company mergers and acquisitions, strategic portfolio transactions, joint ventures, and REIT capital markets transactions, including IPOs, debt and equity offerings, and take-private deals.

Perechocky is renowned for managing complex deal structures and capital-raising strategies for both public and private REITs. He has a particular focus on sophisticated real estate M&A, addressing evolving market demands and investor needs. His notable transactional experience includes serving REITs and real estate private equity sponsors in high-stakes M&A deals and strategic portfolio transactions.

Before joining Gibson Dunn, Perechocky spent seven and a half years at Kirkland & Ellis as a partner. Prior to that, he spent five years with Goodwin Procter. His arrival at Gibson Dunn bolsters their market-leading real estate practice, reflecting his status as a top REIT M&A dealmaker with an "impressive deal sheet."

The rising demand for REIT M&A transactions, including take-private deals, and a growing need among investors to access REIT capital markets will be addressed by Perechocky. He will also be focusing on public REITs continuing to pursue accretive growth opportunities.

Private equity's increasing focus on private credit, sponsor consolidation, secondaries, and REIT capital-raising-including from retail investors-will also be a key area of attention for Perechocky. His client base includes REITs, real estate private equity sponsors, and other real estate-related businesses and companies.

Eric M Feuerstein, real estate practice group co-chair at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, expressed excitement about Perechocky's appointment. "David's arrival strengthens our already strong real estate practice and further solidifies our position as a go-to firm for sophisticated real estate clients," said Feuerstein.

Perechocky himself is thrilled to join Gibson Dunn & Crutcher. "The opportunity to expand my transactional practice by building on the firm's premier real estate platform was highly compelling," he said.

The real estate investment trust (REIT) industry group will also benefit from Perechocky's appointment, as his expertise includes the creation and acquisition of platforms, joint ventures, strategic portfolio transactions, and other corporate and securities law issues.
