Law Firm Consults Rajhi Invest on Selling 40% Shares of Berani Water Company to Hassana Investment Company
In a significant move for the bottled water industry in Saudi Arabia, global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Mohammed Abdulaziz Al-Rajhi & Sons Investment Company (Rajhi Invest) on the sale of a 40 percent stake in Berain Company (Berain).
Berain, a key player in the sector, produces and bottles pure filtered water and manufactures bottles. Their products are part of an established multi-brand portfolio, making this transaction an example of healthy deal activity in the Middle East consumer sector.
White & Case LLP, with service areas including Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions, Consumer & Retail, Infrastructure, Transportation & Logistics, Middle East, UAE, and Saudi Arabia, led the deal. Rajhi Invest sold its stake in Berain to Hassana Investment Company (HIC), the investment manager of Saudi Arabia's social security and pension fund, with more than SAR 1.2 trillion of assets under management.
